I Tried Adele’s Punishing Workout Schedule, Wouldn’t Do Long-Term

Adele recently detailed the workout regime she follows, and it involves working out two to three times a day.

Speaking to British Vogue, the singer said she’d lost 100 pounds but that

weight loss
was never the goal. She wanted to ease her anxiety, feel better, get stronger, and have time away from her phone, she said.

“I work out two or three times a day,” Adele told the outlet. “So I do my weights in the morning, then I normally hike or I box in the afternoon, and then I go and do my cardio at night.”

The singer works out with trainers and said the routine wouldn’t work for most people.

That said, I decided to give Adele’s routine a try, working out in the morning, afternoon, and evening for one day.

Liberal sports writers and corporate media members will be glued to the television on Friday night when the Atlanta Braves host the Houston Astros in Game 3 of the World Series, but many of them won’t be focused on the game. 

Instead, woke members of the press have been busy decrying the Braves’ nickname and iconic Tomahawk Chop as everything from racist to an act of violence. 

“A sport that helped define America and American men for more than 100 years has been taken over by those who hate the sport, the fans and our country,” Media Research Center vice president Dan Gainor told Fox News Digital.  

Cancel culture has hit professional sports in recent years, specifically for teams named after Native Americans, and many have set their sights on the Atlanta Braves as the team hosts its first Fall Classic game in 22 years.

I tried the Daisy Keech ab workout – here’s what happened

I’ll start this article by saying I know I’m very late to the party with the Daisy Keech quarantine go-to clinch waist workout, which has already racked up over 9 million views on YouTube. Always keen to join a workout trend, (find out what happened when I tried the Bretman Rock ab workout and the 12-3-30 viral treadmill TikTok workout here), I unrolled my mat and pressed play, and, wow. 

Core workouts are part of my weekly workout routine as a runner. And as an avid Pilates fan, I wasn’t too worried about this workout. I was wrong. Despite looking OK on paper, my lower abs were aching for a good few hours after this workout, and I definitely noticed them looking more defined the next day. 

Daisy Keech explains in her intro that the moves are designed to give you more of a “clinched waist than build your obliques outwards.” By this, the YouTuber means that by working on the external oblique muscles, which are located along the side of the abdominals, you can get more of a squarer torso and if you’re hoping to make your waist smaller, you should target the abdominal muscles.

It’s important to caveat here that you shouldn’t avoid strengthening your oblique muscles — they’re important for anyone who practices sports that involve twisting from side to side, plus they can help you gain a stronger core.

Emma Raducanu recorded her first win on the WTA Tour

Emma Raducanu said tasting victory on the WTA Tour for the first time since her stunning US Open success “means a lot” to her.

Playing in just her second match since her fairy-tale victory as a qualifier at the US Open, the 18-year-old has finally been able to end the anomaly of being a Grand Slam champion without a win on the WTA Tour.

In just Raducanu’s fourth tournament at this level and after three previous first-round defeats she finally got on the board, beating Polona Hercog behind closed doors at the Transylvanian Open in Cluj.

She said: “It feels like a huge win, it is my first WTA Tour win which makes me very happy.

“It was difficult for me but I feel to win my first WTA match does mean a lot because I was on a losing streak, so I got my first one. I am really pleased to have come through that today.

“It definitely means a lot, it’s my first win, I knew that in my head so I was battling really hard to get on the board. To play in Romania, I had amazing support so they definitely helped me.

Gary Kirsten is on the Pakistan Cricket Board’s radar to replace Misbah-ul-Haq as the men’s team head coach on a permanent basis, it is learnt. Simon Katich and Peter Moores are also on the shortlist, although the latter might have to settle for a Pakistan Super League assignment.

The changes coincided with Ramiz Raja taking charge as the PCB chief. A source in the know of developments informed that Raja is in favour of appointing a foreign coach on a full-time basis, although PCB needs to convince its preferred candidates for the project, as the majority of coaches these days are more keen to be associated with franchise cricket because of its shorter duration.
