Fall Into a Fitness Lifestyle

It’s easy to get started on a fitness lifestyle during the summer. Trips to the pool or beach entice you to firm up, not to mention swimming while you are there. Long summer days mean evening bike rides, and warm weekends are perfect for long mountain hikes. But fall is around the corner and during short chilly days, it can be tempting to stay home by the fire rather than working out. You may need extra motivation to maintain those summer fitness gains; here are three ideas.

Commuting

Cycle to work or run errands on a fat tire electric bike alberta ca. Start at a slow pace then build up speed; start with shorter errands then work up the distance. If you think your commute is too long or too hilly for cycling, think again. Using an electric bike has advantages over a regular cycle because it gives you a longer range, allows greater speeds in traffic and includes uphill motor assist. Building exercise into your day this way makes it impossible to weasel out of your commitment—after work, you may feel too tired to hit the gym but you will definitely want to get home.

Classes

When it’s cold outside move the workouts indoors by joining a gym or community recreation center. Join classes like cardio dance or kickboxing, where the music and energetic instructors make workouts fun. For a more intensive workout try a spin class or enroll in fitness boot camp. Most centers with pools have limited lap swim hours but offer several body sculpting aquatic exercise sessions. With the holiday season around the corner, you may prefer a stress buster like yoga.

Clubs

Backyard summer barbecues may be over, but socializing doesn’t have to be. Find people with similar interests like weekend cycling clubs or running groups, which can be associated with sporting goods stores or found on social media sites. You may want to do shorter hikes during shorter days, but with changing fall color the views will be every bit as rewarding as they have been all year.
